Ah, the Text Editor. I guess you could say that this is my claim to fame. Back in December of 2002, Friends of Ed (now Apress) contacted me about writing in a book about Flash Components. At the time I knew NOTHING about components, but of course, I told em I knew everything about them. So I needed to come up with an idea for a component, and the Text Editor was the first thing I thought of. This application allows you to format text, and export it as HTML. Features include Bold, Italics, Underline, Align, Bullets, Font, Font Color, Save, Load, Organize, and Export to HTML.

The Text Editor was nominated for the Flash Forward Application Award at Flash Forward San Francisco 2003. I also conducted a session discussing how the Text Editor was built at Flash Forward New York 2003.

NOTE: A new version of my Text Editor is in development, and will include an entire rehaul of the code. You will love it :)

  3. No certain date on a release. I have been working on it on and off in the past months, and have the general concept worked out, but now I just need to finish it. Paying work keeps getting in the way dangit :)

  4. Hi Josh,

    Great Component, though would you have any thoughts on why the color picker will not work when you are working with multiple depths??
