  1. How about a windows help like app that fills with content based on directories and files. That you can search and have the search terms highlighted upon search?

    Also the ability to be able to click on a link on open this app to the specific section that the url designates.

  4. Can I play, too…? ;-)

    I’d like to see some Central shells which exploit some of the advanced abilities like data-sharing, notifications, expression parsing… templates that people can start with than would take them a little further than using a browser-based SWF as a starting model. (I don’t know if that makes sense when read, but I’m hoping for things which make it easier to make things more Central-y, less browser-y…?)

  10. i second the no central vote.
    i would prefer an app that shows “best practices”. Uses the components: extending and reskinning them. Things the common developer might need examples of. Examples with programatic motion involving the penner equations would also be a cool idea, as stated above.

  12. Funny… I think a Central app deconstructed or as JD suggests a series of Central “shells” would be an absolutely ideal part of DRK6.

    How many sample Flash apps are out there compared to sample Central apps? Seems insane not to have some Central content on the DRK.

  13. I’d like to see a “best practices” for a secure Flash application. It seems like those who come up with a way to do it won’t give away their secrets (and make their app less secure) so there aren’t any really good tutorials on the Net.

    Something that stores data locally in a secure fashion would be nice..
    especially “real world” data in the 1Mb to 5Mb range.

  14. I’d like to see an extensive sample RIA using the accordion control. Include in this multiple panes with assorted other controls on each of the panes. I have yet to see good, usable sample code doing this.

  17. PLEASE — push someone into doing something to further the regular expressions for MX 2004. Then build a robust “mini-app” using a login, validation via regular expressions, and a bevy of other features that developers are constantly asking for.

  18. I would like to see a good demonstration of some of the semi-advanced features of the Flash MX 2004 components that are only briefly covered in the documentation. For instance, the use of cellRenderer in the DataGrid to display custom string formatting, multi-line display, etc.

  20. Can you include the fwstubs.as file for RPC between Flash and Fireworks?

    According to the “extending Fireworks MX 2004″ docs, it should be on the website, but I can’t find it anywhere (as well as several other files that can’t be found).

  21. How about providing the long overdue Flash player for Symbian. We have templates for the 3650 and no player for it…
    Add to that a sample mobile application that has access to bluetooth and the filesystem ;)

  22. Central shells! I can’t think the DRK6 without Central. It’s simply not possible! Central is a renaissance for RIAS! Let’s mark the transition from medieval to modern times with the DRK6! ;)

  23. Personally, I would expect some Central samples on the DRK6, a must if Macromedia wants Central to really take off: if anybody can start producing commercial Central apps are DevNet subcribers.

    But I agree with Phillip (Kerman): in order to be valuable, a Central sample application should explore Central’s advanced (or almost virgin) features, and provide a starting point for customization and further development.

  24. Report Engine: How about an app that makes extensive use of Printing. Dynamically generating multi-page layouts based on data from WS calls, using an external CSS, etc. Both browser based and Central based would be helpful.
