Sneak Peeks Video: Flash 8 Authoring Preview and more
Below you will find a link to a 320×240 Quick Time movie of the Sneak Peeks session at MAX 2004. A couple of notes before the link…
1) Flex – New charting components (WOW!)
2) Flash – Blending modes, Filters (drop shadow, etc), Improved Performance in the player, Authoring tool preview, Improved Library, etc…
3) Central – Flex in Central, Flash without shell/chrome!!!
4) The high pitched, annoying noises you hear, are whistles they gave everyone to indicate which features they liked.
5) Don’t give Mike too hard a time about the “costume” he had to wear
There is a lot of new stuff in this video, that wasn’t shown in Colin’s video. You will notice that the Central section of the video jumps from one section to another. Thats because I was running out of tape, and I knew people would want to see the player without the shell stuff. Dannys session with Central/Flash Player was probably my favorite, as these are features I have been waiting YEARS for!
If you don’t mind, please visit a couple of the sponsors links below, to help pay for server fees. Thanks!
- @Jasrags I think I might have both. I'll check and bring to Nerd Lunch if I do.
- @cantrell I did. Another 2004 Rubicon. Thinking about buying a lift kit and some bigger tires for it soon.
- @cantrell ohhhh what did you buy?
- Damn good tourney for both teams. Bettman had better not fuck up NHL players in future olympics.
- I think I just gave my cat a heart attack from cheering so loud.
- Daniel Dura - Flex/Flash
- Mike Chambers - Flex/Flash/AIR
- Keith Peters - Flash/iPhone
- Lee Brimelow - Flex/Flash
- Grant Skinner - Flex/Flash
- Stefan Richter - FMS/Flex/Flash
- Jesse Warden - Flex/Flash
- Guy Watson - Flash
- Christian Cantrell - Flex/Flash/AIR

re bandwidth, erm, why not just create a .torrent and fileshare this video clip? there seems to be more than enough interest in it!

So far, bandwidth hasn’t been a problem. We have served up about 70-75 GB so far, and have a good amount left. Also, I don’t know too much about torrents, and haven’t had the time to research them enough

Josh -
Thanks for posting this. We’re so happy to see such a great response. I’m also excited about everything we’re doing and the things I showed in the sneaks are just the tip of the iceburg. We’ve only just begun development and have a long way to go. Good stuff lies in the future of Flash…

Josh, is it possible to convert in into Flash Video format cause Mov, WMA, etc are blocked in my office and only format which I can see is swf. It will be great help if you or anyone else can do it. Thanks

Mike, no problem, it is always good to see Macromedia listen to the community so well, and provide the developers with such great tools. You guys don’t get enough thanks

Thanks for the link, Josh. I’m really excited to see what the next version of Flash brings, and very interested in who it will cater to. For example, will it impliment more tools for designers, or for developers (like AS developers). Interested to find out.
P.S. What’s up eyezberg. Kirupa.com for life!

It depends upons ur layout and contents of ur blog page and the most important is topic in which the discussion is going on, that how different types of scholars gather here to express their mind’s thinking. Its a really nice archive page. Do not mean to rush you here buddy as u can rely on me and one more thing that man who gets angry at the right things and with the right people, and in the right way and at the right time and for the right length of time, is commended.
